FLEXBALL CABLES
Technical description
The Flexball cable is a high-performance push-pull control cable designed to transmit linear motion efficiently, smoothly and with virtually no backlash, even in complex installations. Its design is based on an internal system of blades guided by ball bearings, guaranteeing:
- Mechanical efficiency of up to 97%
- Backlash close to zero
- Smooth, even force transmission
- Exceptional flexibility allowing multiple changes of direction
The cable is also capable of operating in harsh environmental conditions — humidity, condensation, frost — without any loss of performance. It can be used in lengths of up to 60 m, with loads of up to 15,000 N in tension and 6,000 to 15,000 N in compression, depending on the version.
Variations
Flexball cables are available in different sizes and configurations:
- Several conduit diameters (e.g. from 9.5 to 24.3 mm).
- Custom lengths, up to 60 m (or even longer via coupling).
- Different end fittings and terminations: ball joints, eyelets, shackles, threads, welded end fittings.
- High-temperature versions, up to 200°C.
- Types: push-pull, traction only, reinforced railway versions.
Applications
Flexball cable is used in many mechanical systems requiring reliable motion transfer, including:
- Force transmission for parking brakes
- Mechanical controls for on-board components
- Manoeuvring systems requiring reliable operation in harsh environments
